FREE CITIZEN JOURNALISM TRAINING AT THE AKRON DIGITAL MEDIA CENTER

WE WILL REOPEN FEB. 13 AT THE AKRON-SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY.

The Akron Digital Media Center (ADMC) makes it easy for you to become a trained citizen journalist.

The ADMC is a community resource that encourages citizen journalism in greater Akron. Its primary goal is to provide the training and tools local residents and organizations need to create news, information and entertainment that challenge and engage our community.

Here's our new training schedule.

The ADMC is made possible by Akron Community Foundation, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, and local creative professionals who have a vision for the future of media.
BECOME A CITIZEN JOURNALIST

In this series of five workshops, you will learn the tenets of good journalism, basics of writing, story composition, interviewing techniques, blogging, digital photography, video production, audio and lighting techniques, digital video editing and how to promote your stories online.

Upon completion of the workshop series, you and your fellow citizen journalists will be able to single-handedly plan, film, edit and upload a well-produced, three-minute video story, photo journal or written article to Akronist.com (our new community website), as well as to popular social networking and media sharing websites.
